This is the true story of how a dusty flea market find became kits in over 53,000 homes.

It's 2018. We're a group of friends in our late twenties, doing what everyone around us was doing: working too much, scrolling too much, sleeping too little.

We tried everything the internet recommended. Meditation apps we abandoned after four days. Yoga videos paused halfway through. Long walks that somehow turned into phone calls. Nothing stuck, because nothing kept our hands busy enough to keep our heads out of trouble.

Then one Saturday, at a flea market, one of us found an old paint by numbers kit. The kind your grandmother might have kept in a drawer. She bought it as a joke. Two euros.

The following Tuesday she sat down at 8 p.m. to "try it for ten minutes."

When she looked up, it was almost midnight.
