Many people suffer from the low self-confidence and esteem that they can’t paint but there is a solution for that. If you are uncomfortable in front of a blank canvas, mainly because they don't know what to paint or they’re afraid of failures or mistakes that can be hard to correct. However, painting doesn’t always have to be that way because a Paint by Numbers kit exists. These kits make the activity of painting easier, more affordable, and less frustrating for beginners. So in this article, we will be showing you an empowering and inspiring story that might motivate you to paint. This story is about a personal account of how paint by numbers changed someone’s life.

Being afraid to try things is one of my traits because I’m always in my comfort zone. I only do what I usually do because I think that’s what’s easier. However, ever since I went out of my comfort zone, I realized that my life was so mundane and boring because of that trait. I wanted to change that so I ventured into the world of creative arts. I wasn’t really good at creating visual arts, particularly painting and drawing because it wasn’t really my hobby growing up. But since I wanted to improve my painting skills, I was up for a challenge. 

Since I wasn’t completely sure where to start because the thought of buying art supplies already overwhelmed me, I researched painting kits that give you all the basic tools and supplies that you need to start painting. For one, they’re cost-effective, more convenient, and I don’t have to go to the arts and crafts store to look at the hundreds of painting colors and paintbrushes that have numbers and codes that I have no idea of. 

I saw Best Paint by Numbers through my Google search so without a second thought, I immediately clicked the site. That site gave me an idea about what Paint by Numbers is. I mean, I already knew what it was but I didn't know that the application of that technology can actually teach you how to paint.

Browsing through the site gave me a sense of thrill and excitement that I never felt before. Believe it or not, it was even stress-relieving because the site itself is clean to look at compared to other online art stores, and the User-Interface is very sleek making it easy to browse. I browsed to the section where they feature the wide arrays of collections that the site sells and I was astounded by the number of designs that they have. 

Different designs such as florals, skies, nature sceneries, animals, and beautiful landscapes are some of the themes of the pre-printed canvas that comes along with the painting kit. There are also designs that allow you to recreate famous paintings of artists such as Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet.

Thus, I was even surprised that they have Custom Paint by Numbers where you get to select your own photo and they turn it into a canvas for you. Not only that, the color selection for the Custom Art Designs allows you to select the level of difficulty based on the number of colors that you want to use for your painting-- 24 colors, 36 colors, and 48 colors if you really want a more realistic outcome.

With all the things that I saw on the site, it prompted me to purchase not one but two painting kits: one is a fixed design kit that features Van Gogh’s famous Sunflower painting, and the other one is a Custom Paint by Numbers kit. I selected my favorite selfie with my dog so that I can frame it on my room wall. 

The kits were very affordable and the shipping cost was free of charge. The package didn't take too long to arrive at my home and I immediately opened it after it was delivered. I tried painting the Sunflowers painting kit first to develop my hand-eye coordination in painting. I read the guide and tutorials in their blog posts first to ensure that my painting journey is fool-proof.

I laid down the canvas and prepared the other materials suggested in one of their blog posts. However, I didn’t have to worry about pre-mixing the paints or priming the canvas because the kit is already in use. Then, I started painting and it was so relaxing. I was able to forget my anxieties and frustrations as I concentrated on painting each section on the canvas. Number by number, color by color, I was worry-free and stress-free! It gave me a sense of happiness and it made me feel like I am a true artist.

My low self-esteem was gone and Paint by Numbers somehow inspired me to try more things in life. It taught me to stay inspired, be creative, and go out of my comfort zone because the world is so much bigger than my room. 

Ever since I finished the two Paint by Numbers kit, I started painting on a blank canvas. I practiced painting on artist pad papers first and then whenever I would feel extra confident, I painted on a blank canvas. Painting by numbers made me less frustrated in creating artworks because it taught me that creating art is all about having fun and being relaxed. I also listen to relaxing music whenever I paint because it makes the activity more relaxing.

Paint by numbers kits have even become my go-to gift to families and friends every time there’s a special occasion because I want to empower them to start painting too because of its bountiful benefits to our mental health. I even tell them that these kits are truly life-changing.
